Superior Linen Service Achieves Prestigious Certification
SPRINGDALE, AR (February 2015) – Leon Jones, Jr., Director of the Arkansas Department of Labor, has announced that Superior Linen Service’s Eastern Division has achieved status in the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP).
The SHARP Program is designed to provide incentives and support to employers to develop, implement and continuously improve effective safety and health programs at their worksite. SHARP provides recognition for employers who demonstrate exemplary achievements in workplace safety and health. These companies are exempted from a general scheduled federal OSHA inspection for one to two years.
In 2013 there were 48,734 small businesses in Arkansas with employees eligible to apply. Out of those 48,734, there are currently only 43 companies in Arkansas who have earned SHARP recognition. The company has a safety program in effect and a safety committee made up of both employees and management. There are sixty-eight (68) employees at the Eastern Division plant.
An award ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 at the site, 1648 East Mountain Road, Springdale, AR.
